After 18 years at VA (Public & Science), including twelve as Secretary General, Cissi Askwall is leaving to work at the Swedish Research Council. There, she will be leading the development of a national platform for research news and science communication. The recruitment of a new Secretary General is now underway.
“It’s exciting to be moving onto a new job after so many rewarding years at VA. However, I will miss the close collaboration with all our engaged members as well as my creative and knowledgeable colleagues at VA. On the other hand, there will hopefully be opportunities to collaborate in the future. My new assignment fully aligns with VA’s vision of making science accessible to everyone!” says Cissi Askwall.
Since VA was founded in 2002, the non-profit association has grown, both in number of members and employees. Today, its members consist of 105 national organisations and VA is currently working on 18 different projects. The association also works internationally with partners in 35 countries.
“Cissi Askwall has made an incredibly valued contribution to VA (Public & Science) for many years. We thank her and wish her every success in leading this important new work. VA is a stable organisation with talented employees, providing a solid foundation upon which a new Secretary General can develop the organisation further,” says Ann Fust, Chair of VA’s Board of Directors.
An advertisement for the position of Secretary General is published on VA’s website (advertisement in Swedish).
