Public involvement, co-creation, citizen science and other methods for engaging patients and the general public benefits research studies. Working together with the public leads to new ethical considerations. In this workshop, we discuss ethics in PPI, from moral and legal perspectives.

This is the 3d workshop in the series of Patient and Public Involvement workshops for KI researchers.
Research funders and scientific journals increasingly expect researchers to involve stakeholders in research when addressing societal challenges. Patient and public involvement (PPI) can bring new insights and perspectives to increase the societal relevance of the research, and promote the dissemination and uptake of research findings. But this requires that we consider the ethical perspectives, both from moral and legal perspectives.
All KI researchers and employees interested in the topic – with or without prior experience – are welcome to participate in this workshop and networking event, where we present ethical perspectives and regulations around PPI. In this interactive workshop, you will listen to experts in ethics and PPI, as well as work together with the other workshop participants on ethical considerations and actions.
