The EU-project 2WAYS aimed to develop and test new interactive forms to disseminate knowledge about European research in ”life science”. VA took part together with science festivals, science centers, universities and researchers in 17 european countries.
In connection with the Researchers’ Night, ForskarFredag in Stockholm 2010, an asthma and allergies science theater was developed and performed. During the show the audience took part of improvisational theater and research results, facts and drama. The play was produced in cooperation with Stockholms Improvisationsteater, researchers from the Karolinska Institutet and the Lower Silesian Science Festival in Wroclaw, Poland.
The project also organized a Young Europeans’ Science Parliament. There were discussions including the use of embryonic stem cells, genetic testing and personalized medicine. The Parliament was a collaboration between the VA, 2WAYS, the European Youth Parliament, the European Commission and some secondary schools in Stockholm and took place on 23-24 September 2010. The High School Students Louise Axelsson and Richard Stenlander were selected to represent Sweden at the great European Youth Science Parliament in Brussels, where students from 29 european countries participated.
The European Parliament and a final festival with all the new activities from the project were held in Brussels in early December.
