Since 2002, Public & Science Sweden has conducted an annual Science Barometer called the VA Barometer to investigate the Swedish public’s views on science and researchers.
In Sweden, confidence in both research and university researchers remains consistently high, with nearly nine out of ten people expressing significant confidence in university researchers. These figures have remained virtually unchanged for over a decade.
The VA Barometer 2024/2025 is based on 1,009 telephone interviews with a representative sample of the Swedish population aged 16–74. It is the 23rd Barometer survey since Public & Science Sweden was founded in 2002.
