Public & Science Sweden coordinates a national Resource Centre for Science Communication, providing support, resources and opportunities for exchange for people working with science communication and researcher training across Sweden.

The network is particularly aimed at science communication professionals who design or deliver training and other support to help researchers communicate and engage with different audiences.

The Resource Centre builds on science communication courses developed by Public & Science Sweden in 2022. Since then, we have worked to strengthen opportunities for course providers and other practitioners to share experiences, access useful resources and keep up to date with research and international developments in science communication.

Understanding needs and sharing knowledge

In 2024, Public & Science Sweden mapped existing science communication training in Sweden and explored the challenges and needs experienced by those providing courses and support for researchers. The findings are presented in the report Resurscentrum för utbildningar i forskningskommunikation – en förstudie och bakgrund (in Swedish). We also organise regular webinars and other activities for the network, providing opportunities to exchange experiences, discuss current issues and explore new methods and resources for science communication.

Public & Science Sweden is also the Swedish partner in COALESCE, the European Competence Centre for Science Communication. Through this collaboration, the Resource Centre connects practitioners in Sweden with European resources, networks and developments in science communication.
