Folk och Forskning – dialogue for evidence-based policy

To meet societal challenges, we need more and better, meeting places where researchers, politicians and civil society can encounter and discuss problems and solutions. That’s why we have started a meeting place for dialogue on evidence-informed decision-making: Folk & Forskning (Science & Society)

At Folk och Forskning, researchers, practitioners, politicians, representatives of interest groups, business and civil society meet in open discussions. The aim is to clarify what scientific knowledge exists and discuss how it can be used to make well-founded democratic decisions. How should we handle conflicting evidence from different areas of knowledge? How does it govern our scope for action? What knowledge gaps are there? How is scientific evidence combined with political ideology and societal considerations?

The meeting place is held annually and with different themes each year.

The next conference is held in Uppsala on the 28th of April. 

Together with several of our member organisations and other stakeholders, we are arranging roundtable discussions on various aspects of evidence-informed decision-making. We invite all member organisations in Public  &Science Sweden as well as other stakeholders, to co-create the content of the roundtable discussions and dialogue activities.
